I just returned from an assignment with Skiing Magazine to a very unique but amazing place: Holden Village, WA. I was joined by the likes of Sakeus Bankson, Drew Stoecklein, Patrick Haggerty, Forrest Coots and Jeff Campbell. A bit of a dude trip eh? Holden is a Lutheran Retreat Center found deep in the heart of the Cascades. We found an extremely gracious and welcoming community as well as huge mountains filled with endless amounts of skiing. Not much to complain about there. I highly recommend checking it out.
On another note, I take off for a yurt trip in the Three Sisters Wilderness, OR this coming weekend and right now Bridget and I are in the process of moving out of our place and in with a couple of good friends. This move is our first big step towards downsizing so that we can be living on the road in a truck/camper by the end of this summer for about a year. Vague explanations, more will be written soon, but I am in between packing boxes and wanted to give a little update. Exciting times are ahead.

Safe travels and I am stoked to hear of your future adventures!
Nice, Garrett. Holden has been on my hit list for the past couple years, but never seem to get a mission together. Any beta you care to share on the details of the trip. Lodging? Boat shuttle? etc. You can hit me on the side, also. shanecrobinson at gmail dot com. Thanks!
Shane…I would be happy to help you out. Send an email my way and I can try my best to help you out. Thanks!
