This winter my goal is to explore.  With less time in or around the resorts, it is time to go out there and see what else is around.  I feel creatively pigeon holed when I am at a resort with people everywhere and all I can see is what others have already done.  I do my best to break free of this but I feel so much freedom, inspiration and creativity when I go somewhere new, plus I just love the simplicity the backcountry presents.  I am more aware.

So to start off the season myself, Adam Roberts, Colin Ferris and Mike Yonkers went to the Keith Hut nearby Pemberton, BC for 3 days.  It was deathly cold outside at -10 to -25 F and there were some scary avalanche conditions with wind pockets all over (see picture).  We made the best of it by skiing conservatively, playing lots of cards and relaxing but we hope to return soon so that we can venture farther into the area.
