Published | Mountain Life Magazine

I noticed this magazine a while back while up in Whistler, they do a great job covering stories specifically centered around the British Columbia Coastal Range.  After introducing myself to their Photo Editor Feet Banks, I submitted some oldies but goodies and the rest is history.  I really look forward to collaborating with them more in the future!  The Magazine can be viewed online by clicking here. Note: cover photo is not mine but Jordan Manley’s.

Published | 2010 Rock & Ice Photo Annual

Wow.  I cannot lie about this one, it feels good.  Much like getting published in Patagonia for the first time last year, getting a photo in the Rock & Ice photo annual feels like a milestone.  Why?  Because for the last eight years; basically ever since I started caring about climbing and photography I had hoped to have a photo published in there.  It was one of the things that ignited the fire, now I hope it will do the same for another young budding climber/photographer.  Also, Alf if you ever find Internet and read this, thanks a ton for going up this tiring, long off-width.  You made it look way too easy.  The photo was taken this past fall at Indian Creek, UT. Note: cover photo is not mine, that would belong to Tim Kemple.

Spring Has Sprung…in February?!?!

A snippet taken from the Northwest Avalanche Center:

“Unfortunately there are no storms that we’re tracking, that will anytime soon give us snow that we’re lacking.

Just a narrow blocking ridge along the coast, that should close off and leave us dry as toast.

Mostly sunny with cooling for the rest of the week, any outlook for storminess looks pretty bleak.

The weather of note should be winds from the east, that will keep the snow surface a crusty beast.

Wind sheltered south aspects might warm up a tad, but not enough to make the danger too bad.

All in all, the Nino and split flows remain—with the SW and Cal getting most of our rain.”

So since El Nino has made skiing look like this:I have been spending time where El Nino is doing this:Life is full of compromise.
